This compilation aims to help out with costs incurred during Tom Carter's recovery from the illness which hospitalised him during Charalambides European tour last year. The number of artists who wished to be part of it kept growing & so here it is, a little further down the line than we'd planned, but with so many incredible contributors, we hope it's been worth the wait.

“Babbleon Cork” is the result of my residency in the Guesthouse in May 2010. I’ve created an audio collage in three parts composed solely of sounds recorded during my time in Cork. The result is a short album which captures the energy of Cork city mixing layers of abstracted sounds and the fluent, irreverent utterances of the Corkonians themselves. I’ve released this project as a free download under a creative commons licence leaving it open for sampling and remixing." - Gavin Prior, November 2012.

Vinyl LP + Download

The album title 'Downland' is a play both on van Wissem's Lowlands home, and the Renaissance Lute composer John Dowland, rumoured to have been born in Ireland. The seeds of this collaboration were sown in late 2007, when United Bible Studies were part of the bill for van Wissem's first Irish concert. He was particularly taken with Paul Condon's bass playing and eventually wrote a piece with this in mind, which became the ecstatic 'Come Holy Ghost'. Van Wissem began recording tracks for United Bible Studies to overdub and a postal collaboration began in earnest in 2009.
Numbered edition of 300 LPs in silk-screened covers. Each LP includes a free download code.

Wereju's blurry, eerie drones have a lot in common with Aidan Baker's solo guitarscapes and the massive string tones of Fear Falls Burning, but this is darker stuff than either of those artists. Heavily processed feedback swells in tide-like form, deep and sonorous, and underneath the warbling ambience is a dark soundworld enveloped in shadow. Muted melancholy melodies appear and disappear, soft whorls of sound and far-off klaxon blasts carry over vast expanses of blackness, and reverberating strings hum suspended in the air. Every once in awhile, the sound will begin to overload and distort, and form into a heavy blackened Sunn O))) like drone, but mostly Wereju inhabits a realm of mysterious, drifting, meditative dark ambience.

Wyntr Ravn is a duo of Jane Austen (Avanti Maria, Currer Bells) and Gavin Prior (Toymonger, United Bible Studies). Their Debut album has arrived. It's a dysthopic concept album called 'Daylight Raving'. The flesh is weak but the body and brain are still twitching, refusing to stop raving. Flashes of the night before intrude on the victim's solipsistic brainfreeze; a fews bars of beats, a lost loop, muted voices of friends now also trapped in their own private hell yet only inches away............you can leave the rave, but the rave will never leave you.

To celebrate the release of 'Misery Together' the third and final Thinguma*jigsaw album we've reissued their first album from 2007 as a downland. This CD sold out twice but a few copies of the 1st pressing were recently unearthed. Click on the bandcamp link to buy the download only.

This album has been described as "a masterpiece and a half". It is produced by the eminent Nicky Coghlan, and it features twelve original compositions, one cover of Daniel Johnston's "walking the cow", and liner-notes by the legendary Mike "Sport" Murphy. Original artwork by Little Myth Epiphanymph. The album is beautiful, fragile, introverted and delightfully puzzling.

This irresistible, revolutionary folk-duo will tickle your brain and nourish your heart

Two elusive, exeptional, pivotal personalities - cunningly spinning a web of flamboyant brouhahas within the idiom of their own device: charming, clever, generous, sinister splatterfolk.

Splatterfolk combines elements of traditional Irish/British/American folk with contemporary art music, and spices it up with lyrical and musical components usually associated with horrorfilms, experimental theatre and modernistic poetry. There is also an abundance of filmatic and popcultural references. It's the new revolution within the folk music - scene of today, and you will find no finer exponents of this subversive art than Thinguma*jigSaw.

The End Of This Short Road by Antony Milton
The End Of This Short Road

USD 5

"I recorded it in 2000 a few months before I started the PseudoArcana label, and given that my initial idea for
P.A. was for it to focus on harsher and more abstract musics the simple melodic folk songiness of 'Short Road' resulted in it sitting on the shelf for much longer than it perhaps should have.
There was a great poet who said of his work that all he had ever done was write the same poem again and again, trying to get it right. I've sometimes felt that I only have the one song inside me, and I've approached that song from a hundred radically different angles and have ultimately become convinced that this song can never in fact be realised in any definitive way. But that one song is still there inside me and there are places on 'Short Road' where I think I come as close to realising that song as anywhere."

Two years of recording and another two years of post-production have gone into crafting "The Bright Day Is Gone" - the debut album from Children Of The Stones. Now at last it is finished and ready to ship. This is a dazzling concept album of Piano-Poptronic power ballads set in a post-apocalyptic night-time world in which the past and the future are embroiled in a desperate race for the last place aboard the last refugee ship to outer space, due to leave the planet at dawn from the South Pole (but maybe from the North). And for the loser? Nothing less than ABSOLUTE extinction.

The bright day is gone and we are for the dust and the earth still abides though we die...

From Agitated Radio Pilot's Myspace blog:

In the far from distant present....I am happy to say that THE DAYS AND HILLS GROWN OLD should be available from the Village shoppe right about now or next week. I am immeasurably proud of this one and it represents a much more haunted incarnation of the Pilot. The exception to this is the massive central track which we played and recorded whilst supporting Sunroof! some time back. I think there were about 11 of us on the Lazybird stage that night....Man, the white lights were shining . Let it be known that Matthew Bower and Michael Flower are gentlemen of the highest degree and brought out the best in our ragged ensemble. I have since become obsessed with everything Bower related and I recommend you check out some of the Sunroof! cds...or indeed anything by Skullflower or The Hototogisu....Wrap yer retinas in gauze and fill yer ears with honey

'The Anaesthetic' documents a set of improvised piano pieces, performed in an unlit concert in the spring of 2004. As painterly as any of Smyth's visual work, this is nervous-system music with a long memory and fast heart.
