A long-time harpist with United Bible Studies, Áine recently released an album of solo organ improvisations on Fort Evil Fruit. (
She'll be playing a mixed set of instrumentals and songs including new material from her forthcoming album on the Second Language label.

Imogen: fiddle, ukulele, voice, harp
Brian Fleming: percussion
Ciara Ni Suilleabhain: harp, voice, flute

……Original compositions and soaring vocal harmonies, expertly crafted by this multi-instrumental line-up. Ethereal harp, fiddle and flute take the listener on a journey through musical dreamscapes, to stomping, driving fiddle tunes, underpinned by the timeless beat of a feast of percussion….

Songs by Gavin Prior (United Bible Studies,Toymonger) and Suzanne Walsh (ex-Noland Folk, duo with Brian Conniffe), String arrangements by Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh.

Sabre Series originated when Gavin Prior and Suzanne Walsh both found themselves recording in the same isolated cottage in the Tipperary hills. They were surrounded by horses and wilder creatures and nocturnal presences which found their way into their song ‘The Shivering’. Sabre Series songs tend to be concerned with the fleeting moments when the subconscious and external worlds push against and illuminate eachother.

Listeners will hear echoes of folk and torch songs but Prior’s chord choices and Nic Oireachtaigh’s string arrangements keep edging things forward. Gladly at odds with current trends of mumbling vagueness and emotional detachment, these are living, breathing songs, tremulous and lived in the shadow of the L.H.C !!!
